I picked cherries today at a u-pick place, and I wanted the experience of eating a cherry right off the tree, so regardless of chemicals, I ate the sun-warmed fruit. Later, when I paid, I asked the woman about the chemicals and she said it was a sulphur spray, the same as the organic farmers use. “So these are organic cherries?” I asked. “We can’t call them organic,” she said, “because we have less than ten acres.”

You can only be an organic farmer if you have more than ten acres? What numbskull thought that one up?
